About

Who We Are

In the summer of 2011, a diving accident changed Cameron Horner’s life forever. A broken neck and spinal-cord injury left him immediately paralyzed from the chest down — yet under the water that day, as he faced drowning while waiting for rescue, Cameron encountered the overwhelming peace of God. Rescued at the last moment, he began a new chapter of full-time ministry from his wheelchair, sharing a testimony of grace that has touched thousands.

For over a decade, Cameron spoke in churches, taught Scripture, and slowly developed a deep burden: to see the church become a place of belonging and friendship for people experiencing disabilities.
When Cameron married Annie — a gifted clinical mental health therapist — in 2024, together they began to reimagine what ministry together could look like. The ministry that had once sustained Cameron through speaking engagements was ready to grow into something bigger. They reimagined it as Accessible Grace: a ministry that not only continues Cameron’s speaking and teaching but actively equips churches to become accessible and platforms other disabled voices through consultation and mentorship.

Today, Accessible Grace exists to journey alongside churches and organizations, helping them move beyond ramps and policies into cultures of friendship. We also care for individuals and families affected by disability, connecting them with mentors who understand the road they’re on because they’re on it too. Everything we do flows from a simple conviction: there should be no barriers to accessing the unique experience of God’s grace found in Church families.

Shelbi Shut

Team Member & Mentor

Shelbi is a speaker, writer, and disability advocate based in New York City who longs to see the emerging generation awaken to the love and power of God’s presence that is made perfect in and through weakness. Diagnosed with Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy in her teens, Shelbi’s unfolding story of steadfast hope and defiant joy has invited thousands across the country to encounter Jesus in the midst of their own limitations and longings.

Prior to moving to New York this year with her husband Jordy, Shelbi spent the last seven years as a pastor on staff at A Jesus Church in Portland, Oregon. In addition to her work in the local church, Shelbi has served as a collaborative partner with Practicing the Way, Alpha, Sanctuary Mental Health, BibleProject, The Fuller Youth Institute, and Awakening Project.

Shelbi is honored to partner with Accessible Grace in offering mentorship for individuals navigating visible and invisible disabilities. Drawing from her own journey with chronic illness, spiritual formation, and pastoral care, she creates spaces of compassion, courage, and honest discipleship—journeying with others as they discover the God who meets them not in spite of their weakness, but within it. Through this partnership, Shelbi desires to help people embody wholeness, reclaim hope, and experience the presence of Jesus in every facet of their story.
